ACT NOW! ONLY 12 SEATS LEFT!
As VP of Development at Spring Creek Productions at Warner Brothers Studios, Palak Patel spends all day giving notes to established writers, deciding which scripts to bring into the studio, and speaking with A-list agents and managers about the latest specs and projects.
Now, he’s bringing his insider knowledge to the classroom. In this six-week course, he’ll work with you as you develop an outline and begin the first act of your screenplay. He’ll give you feedback on assignments, and show you how to make your script stand out from the 30-40 specs that get submitted to him every week.
In addition to his own personal knowledge, he will be bringing in a different industry insider every week for a Q&A. These will include a CAA agent, a Warner Brothers studio exec, a manager, director, studio based producer, and an established writer.
Also, so that you have an up to the minute knowledge of what the industry is looking for, he will be giving you copies of screenplays currently in development by A-list writers, as well as the latest specs bought by studios.
Come into the class with an idea for a screenplay, and over the course of six weeks, Palak will help you turn that idea into an outline and a first act.
Week 1 – Evolution and Foundation of Screenwriting
Week 2 – The Outline: Structure, Story, and Plot
Week 3 – Characters, Style, and Tone
Week 4 – The First Act
